are fueline and brakelines the same?

I'm putting in a new sending unit in my fuel tank and will have to relocate and customize the fuel lines from inside the tank. My question is the auto store gave me black metal brakeline to use is that ok or will it rust inside the fuel tank.

brakes lines are only 1/4" inch.

fuel lines are the bigger sizes.

I think any line will rust when exposed
to salt.

I rebuilt my fuel and brakes lines on my 87 Cavalier.

Not sure how much work in the tank
your doing.
