  • Upgrading to cd player

Hi, I have a 99 Camaro with a Monsoon casette player in it and I bought a stock Monsoon cd player off of ebay when I went to get a pioneer in-dash cd player I was told it would be difficult install b/c of the wiring of the Monsoon system. I'm just wondering if anybody knows if all I have to do is take out the casette player and plug in the cd player or have a few things I need to do first. Thanks.

if you have the correct head unit and the correct CD changer, it should be a simple plug in, I believe. Look under teh hatch on teh drivers side for teh CD changer plug (might be behind the panel), and simply plug in then mount the cd changer--if the head unit is teh correct head unit and the CD changer is the correct changer

      my 2 cents:

you would be much better off... buying the gm 12 disc changer. your car is already pre wired for it. the harness is under the left rear plastic hatch pannel. its a 10 min install. bolt it to the little deck on the left side...plug in the harness. it works with your existing controls. now you still have the cassette when you want it too..... and no hassel.

If the theftlock is on you need to get the code first if not it should be plug and play.

You shouldnt have any problems with the theft-loc unless it was activated before it was un installed. I would hook it up first and see.
