  • Everyone who complains should look at this..

It is my personal opinion that a lot of people complain about a lot of things. But then there is the soldiers who are deployed that don't have the luxuries of life right now to complain about. We complain about the weather, the sand, being away from home, our friends dying. Just the other day I had one die in the blackhawk. Don't take forgranted how fortunate you all are to be in the states and to have been with your family and loved ones during the holidays.

        Amen Wolfy,

The latest Blackhawk Medevac that went down were one of the medics and crew we talked to frequently. People in my section said it was call sign "Witch Doctor 16". My prayers are with their families.

Your point is well taken - It's a lesson in life to be thankful for what you have and remember that there's always someone worse off. But complaining is universal - I'm sure Bill Gates has things to complain about like "My 26 car garage isn't big enough" or "I should be allowed to have at least 3 wives and 12 concubines"

When I was in the service, we complained non-stop about the leech repelent not working and the rifles being clapped out. We even had to open the hood of the jeep and mess with the carbueretor every time we had to go somewhere. And I'm pretty sure that the mess specialists were stealing the steaks out of the chow hall when we were eating rabbit. And, for some reason, the Marines never seemed to cook the food enough, so my stomach always hurt afterward. Once, they tried to get us to wear this experimental Kevlar underwear, but it was uncomfortable and we refused. Also, for some reason, the BO juice turned the armpits orange on our brown t-shirts. Complain, complain, complain...

In our initial deployment their were no showers,

The Babywipe, skin so soft, goldbond thing for a while. After water supply was a little better we would use these camp showerbags outside. The biggest thing out here was the heat, sandstorms, sandflies, and mortar attacks. Now it's not so bad. Nothing compared to guys who were in Vietnam, Korea and WWII. Still can't wait to come home though.

points well taken. Yes everyone complains. Just sometimes the stupidity of the complaints, and i do not deal well with stupid people. At all. Being in the Army has taught me many things, and a quote has come true, i think it went like this. "do not doubt the powers of stupid people in large numbers" I'm sure things are a lot different now than the were back in the day, but there is still the same bullshit in an branch of military service. Thank you to everyone that is in support of our troops, we appreciate it. We talk to the pilots of all the helicopters all the time they hate coming to our camp, because they always get shot at and you can see them checking their aircraft for holes. I know how it is with the sandstorms, sand fleas, no showers, no edible food. the baby wipes are a necessity. The trucks never work when you want them too and they always break down on a convoy that was supposed to take half a day turned into a 2 day adventure. Don't know where mixedpuppy is, but i think he's at a camp that has been around longer, or is not in a hostile of an area as ours. Some troops have it a lot better than others, like the ones in kuwait that are getting the same combat and hazardous duty pay as we are, the ones taking the bullets, now its just my opinion but that makes no sense to me.
