speeding tickets and what they cost in your area

i just got a ticket yesterday and it was the first one in about 3 years. i was clocked at 70 in a 45 on a back country road, and there just happened to be a state trooper there at 7 am. the ticket i got was for $247.oo and i almost pi$$@d my pants when i saw the dollar amount. what do tickets cost in your area?

79mph in a 65mph zone = $116.50

(The secret is he told me he clocked me at 84 but wrote 79--but if he had clocked me about 60 seconds sooner it would have been about 95 or so!!)

$155 "cutting of a cop" it was B.S, only the second day i had my firebird, and it was my first ticket.

i got 37 in a 25 but he wrtoe me up for 5 over = $100

Last one I got was in 1987 and it cost 120.00 or 130.00 for 95 in a 60 !!!!!

Think it is a lot more than that now!

here in louisana 95 in a sixty gets you and your car takin to jail tickets are high here and yes i have been in the 90 in a sixty mess any thing 20 mph over and you go to jail

WOW !! That is HARSH,that is where spend most of my time[80-85],it seems a REASONABLE speed with the cars we have.

The roads were built 30 ago for land yachts[or barges] that had no suspension or brakes or safety features to run around at 70 MPH.

Now comparatively we are driving F2000 [or at least Trans Am ] capable cars with killer everything and we should drive 60????

In NJ, it isn't the cost of the ticket that screws you.... its what they do to your auto insurance. My 22-year old son got a ticket in NY for "15 over the limit". His only chargeable ticket. The insurance company gave him 6 "penalty points" for the ticket, and he paid approx. $1,000 a year extra for auto insurance.... FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS!!!

In essence, his ticket cost him maybe $100+ for the ticket, and $3,000 in insurance penalties.

He has learned his lesson

Not to mention a few others that I managed to wiggle out of.

I think it all depends on what county you're in...some charge more than others.

Hey, -had- a friend coming down to my place a few years ago. I said had for a reason (he was a selfish [EDIT] that only cared for himself, so we parted ways). Anywho, got caught doing 127 (slowed down from 138) in a 75!!!! Straight to jail with no questions asked...cuffed and gone.

Ticket cost in IN.

Here in IN. I got 2 in 2 months. One was my fault. I was doing
74 in a 55 zone. That cost me 103.50.
The 2nd one I was doing 50 in a 45 but the butthole cop said his radar clocked me doing 64. I told him he was wrong. But as always he gave me the ticket and said that his radar is calabrated before and after his shift. Whatever.

Standard price is 85.50. Add 1 dollar to every mile over.
This next one if I have to pay it will be 104.50.

Got one a month or so ago on my way to New Orleans on the baskin bridge 85 in a 60, but he wrote me off for 75 - $188.

Well, this wasn't speeding, but I got one for spinning my tires and is concider careless driving. So I got a $89 fine a 6 points on my license, Which really sucks!!!!

Got clocked doing 103 in a 45. It was a back country road no one around for miles one of the few times I've broken 100. The cop knew my dad and after I got a 15 minute lecture he let me go. I thought I was lucky till I got home and my dad was at the door for me cause the cop called him.

Anything over 20 above limit is considered excessive speeding and cop can give an extra $75 or $180 on top of ticket. We've had some very public and bad street racing accidents around here. They are getting very strict and they should. And I wont tell you which ones I have got
