  • Shift kit install tips?

I am getting ready to install a Transgo shift kit into my A4. Does anyone have any tips/comments/suggestions I should know about before beginning?

    Thanks in advance!

    1. Watch the video twice.
    2. Repeat step #1.
    3. The screws are different lengths - remember where they go.
    4. Don't lose any of the check balls.
    5. Get a BIG drip pan.
    6. 3 washers under the accumulator spring make it shift real stiff.
    7. Lower the trans slightly to get the servo out of the side.
    8. Cleanliness is next to Godliness.
    9. Remove any Hypertech shift firmness programming before trying it out.
    10. Good Luck!

By "lower the tranny slightly" do you mean I actually need to remove the tranny to lower it? How much of a pain in the (insert mild explicitive here) is this to do? As you can tell this is my first time, and I want to make it as gentle as possible.

      Thanks

No, you don't have to remove it, but it is harder to get the servo & clip out than they say it is and you might find it easier if you remove the trans support and lower the tailshaft a little with a jack.
