  • At last!!!

This is it ladies and gentlemen...she is nearing completion. Thanks to the help of my dad and Craig94GT, my baby is almost done. Here's the ongoing list...

    SLP cold air kit
    Vortech polished aluminum intake elbow
    SLP throttle-body air foil
    throttle-body coolant bypass
    Powermaster chrome 140-amp alternator
SLP bolt-on sub-frame connectors (VERY FREAKIN' NICE!!)
    Spohn 4130 chrome-moly non-adj. lower control arms
    Spohn 4130 chrome-moly non-adj. panhard rod

and for the crowning jewel IMHO lol...

SLP loudmouth with Sweet Thunder muffler *drool* lol

I also done the stereo. Went with a BLaupunkt Miami CD72 head unit and 4 Phoenix Gold speakers. Still have the Alpine V12 amp and JBL 10" sub...for now. I've got some pics of the LM on that I'll post ASAP. I'm still planning on putting on a short-throw shifter, new knob, new custom chip, new torque arm, maybe new sway bars and maybe 17" wheels. But, she's coming along real nicely. Thanks to everyone who helped me with the problems, esp. the moderators and shoebox. I'll keep everyone updated as to her progress. All she needs is her ABS fixed (thinking its the controller, not the sensor...it pulses at any speed now, esp. high speeds) and her cousin to get out of the shop (Craig's T/A lol). Take it easy everyone and enjoy the new year.

Loudmouth with a muffler? the loudmouth uses an inline resonator...then the pipes from there back are a single unit.. they dont route in a way to use a horizontal muffler?????

Steve let me know your thoughts on that alternator, I'm thinking about picking up their 200amp chrome version. Its a lot of $$$ so I'm for my OEM one to die...could be awhile for that though...been going strong for 11yrs...kinda sad when you hope something dies so you have a good reason upgrade it...LOL.

I was thinking the same thing...muff a loudmouth, never, even if it's possible.

Considering I helped install the system...it has a muffler that looks like a straight pipe, in place of where the resonator was. Since it was a slightly used cat-back, the previous owner hacked off the resonator and put in an in-line muffler in place. When you look at the outside of the muffler, it just looks like a straight pipe. The inside of the muffler has several points (triangles) slightly sticking out that probably attempts to deaden the sound. It's still loud, but considering we've never heard the loudmouth in person, I'm not sure how much quieter it is.

Exactly what Craig said. My muffler shop called it a steel pack...similar to a glass pack, but using small plates to deaden the sound instead of fiberglass. That was the big selling point to me, since SLP said that with the resonator it would be way to freakin' loud for CA requirements (stupid laws lol). I did a little bit of research and they do a lot of stuff for classic muscle, esp. for C1 and C2 Corvettes. To picture it, replace the resonator with what looks like a normal piece of 3" pipe with a crimp 1" from each end of the muffler. Sounds pretty great though. As for the alternator, it does pretty well for me. Definitely charges like the police on R. Kelly. lol Looks good, lots of power...esp. since Powermaster usually buils there amps to deliver a little more than 140 amps. Mine is ~105 @ 2400, 142@6000rpm. As for the 200-amp unit, its not that much more than the 140-amp unit and only requires you to upgrade the charge wire to a 4-guage wire to the battery. Not too shabby for what you get. Take care guys.
