When I was stationed in Ft. Gordon in Augusta, Georgia I used to SCUBA Dive the Savannah River looking for really old bottles and arrow heads. Gators usually never come up that river that far but one day my friend banged on the his air tank with his knife and yelled out once we surfaced "Big Gator! Big Gator!" He didn't have to yell twice since I had a trail of yellow water following me straight to the bank. Later that weekend I saw on the news that the Fish and Game authorities caught a 14 foot alligator around the docks near where we dove.
