Here is a bunch frequently used
TB = Throttle Body
STB = Strut Tower Brace
SFC = SubFrame Connectors
MAF= Mass Air Flow sensor
IAT = Intake Air tempreture sensor
TPS= Throttle position sensor
IAC= Idle Air Controller
O2= oxygen sensor
MAP= Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor
RAP= Reserved Accessory Power
VATS= Vehicle Anti Theft System
AIR = the airpump (smog) system
CAI = Cold Air Intake (or induction)
EGR= Exhaust Gas Reburn
OPTI= the distributor on the LT1 (optispark)
M6 = Manual 6 speed transmission
A4 = Automatic 4 speed transmission
1LE = an available handling / special performance package
LT1 =the code for the V8 offered from 1993 - 1997
LT4= a rare special high performance version of the LT1
LS1= the code for the V8 offered from 1998-2002
SLP = A company that upgrades cars for GM.(Streel Legal Performance) and sells goodies outright also.
1.6RR= 1.6 ratio roller rockers
Many times, if someone removes a part from their car, they will indicate it by listing the part name with an ! in front of it.
ex..
!TBcoolant = removed the TB coolant lines
!MAFscreen = descreened the MAF
!VATS = disabled the VATS
!AIR = removed the AIR system
!IAT = bypassed the IAT
!EGR = removed the EGR valve
If someone says they have a 1LE shaft, they are saying they have the aluminum driveshaft that came as part of the 1LE option. The same goes for 1LE swaybars and other parts.
LT4 heads or LT4 hotcam would indicate that a person installed heads or cam for an LT4 into their LT1.
I'm sure threre are a ton more, feel free to add to the list.
