  • Best subframe connectors?

What do you guys think are the best subframe connectors for my 97 TA with t-tops? I want to get a set of cheap but effective SFC's. Can you guys please give me some advice on this? Also what is involved in installation? Thanks guys......the car is relatively stock.

There are goods and bad about them all. Here is what I have found.

    http://www.fasttoys.net/9398fbodysusp.html has one by G2 but I can't find the manufacturer's website.

http://www.spohn.net/ doesn't show one for 93-97. They do list one for 98-02.

The cheapest one is the BMR tube and the R K Sport tube for $140.
All require welding except for the SLP bolt on. $300.

I was going to go with the BMR tube but I think I am going to go with the BMR box instead. I can see a slight performance increase in the X type one like the SLP or Kenny Brown but I just don't think it's worth it.

If your car is lowered, you might want to consider the BMR tubes. They give the most ground clearance.

I have not investigated the cost of welding. I have an arc welder and did mine on my last car but I won't do that again. Migs are much easier. My method of arc welding is spark, spark, spark, spark, spark, plug the hole, finish weld. I have a friend who has a mig welder and I may do that. I figure a shop like Midas will do it for less than $50.

G2 is made by LG Motorsports:

You might also want to look at the SFC's made by MAC. I believe they are about as cheap as you are going to find. A buddy of mine had them on a 30th SS convertible and they worked great up to about the 800HP level, when the pins in the roll bar swingouts started to misalign, indicating permanent body twist.

Are they fairly easy to install? My dad has a mig welder and he has some welding experience. But I was wondering about the exact location of the welding points on the frame. This may be a stupid question. I just don't want to mess anything up.
        Thanks
