  • battery relocation...??

okay, i helped my friend relocate his battery to the back with the summit relocation kit. what we did was run the 2 gauge cable from the battery back up to where thee original battery was, but now, initially, the starter isnt gettin enough juice to turn the motor over. so, we moved the battery back to the front for the time being so he doesnt burn up the starter....here's my solution, we cut the new 2 gauge cable at the starter and put two terminators on the end of each side and connect it to the starter and remove the old power cable from the starter. but if i do this will the starter be turning at all times because it will be connected to the alternator or will this work? any other ideas on how yall did the battery relocation would be great.

    Thanks guys,
    Marshall

How did you ground the system?

right to the frame rail under the car...i didnt think it was the ground because everything else on the car works well, like headlights, brights, interior lights, etc.

It could be the ground even if everything else works fine.

I've jump started cars where the connections were not good enough to crank the engine, but all the lights worked well.

Probably the best thing to do it run the ground cable (welders cable) all the up the where it grounds to the engine some where or where it origanally was grounded.
