  • HELP!!!! Starter/Block don't line up.

Bought the car from some jackass up by Jeff City, MO and it has the wrong block in it. 95 Camaro, 6 spd car. The block has the offset bolt pattern for the starter, but every starter in town (including the one for a 95 LT1) are straight across. Does anyone know what the block might be out of so that I can find a starter to match it? Thinking about buying an aftermarket hi-torque gear reduction starter, but would like to just buy another factory one if I can find one. My starter fell off....only one bolt in the damn thing....luckily the Y-pipe held it. The block would have to be an LT1 right???, since it has the water pump drive, and opti and all that? So is there any LT1's with the offset starter pattern? Thanks for your help.

try getting a starter for a police package caprice, or a buick road master station wagon with the LT-1. that block may be a replacement
