well....not really....."the van" is whats snowed in. cause ive already been out driving around playing in my Envoy......hahahahahahahaha.

but..they finally plowed the main drag..and theres a 2.5 foot wall of snow you have to plow thru to get on the main drag now! stupid jerks... only takes a sec or two to swing in with the blade and move that stuff. how dumb is that? plow the main road that normal vehicles cant get on because of no access from the side streets....????? dmv.....what a joke.

Reno and Keona are having a blast... Shelby has a hurt foot so she has to stay indoors.....

here's the wrecking crew last night..ol Reno is showing a wolfdog that Goldens can hold thier own!

        You guys are all wusses.

With 10 inches of snow I still had to ride to school with my bicycle about 3 miles away in the neighbour village back in Switzerland. We usually went home for lunch and then back to school in the afternoon. May parents never even asked if we wanted to be driven.

I never heard of a school or work closing due to snow until I came over here.

In Richmond they used to close school is 2 inches of that white stuff was in the forecast and the grocery stores were out of bread and milk???

Funny was though the first morning after the snow hit. You could see cop and state trooper cars everywhere in the ditches.

I got a question: what exactly is a Wolf Dog? Is it a mix or is it 100% Wolf?

wolfdogs are classified "low", "mid" "high mid" and "high content". the content refers to the amount of wolf in them.

then they are further classified F1, F2, F3 F4 and F5..after F5..they dont get a class. the F factor is the generations removed from the wild. in other words, if the father is and F1, and the mother and F1...then the pup is an F2.

Keona is a 'high mid' F3.

wolfdogs are mixed with usually malimute, husky, or shepard.

Keona's dad is a British columbian wolf crossed with a low content of malimute/husky. her mother is timberwolf/shepard cross.

my first wolfdog was also an F3, she was Timberwolf/red wolf/husky. also a 'high mid'.

if you go to my site, and check keo's home page, at the bottom is a link with alot of info about wolfdogs.

its illegal to own a pure wolf unless you have a permit and its for education / display. you wouldnt want one anyway. the high content wolfdogs and a pure wolf are almost impossible to make a house companion out of. very destructive.

Thanks, wolfman, that clears a lot of things up!

Where I live is mostly unacorporated, meaning there are a lot of lots available for build. There's a pack of coyotes in my neighborhood. I can hear them outside my window howling in the morning hours right across the street from my house. Sometimes when I come home from a late party I can see them roaming around and I think I know where their "hideout" is.

                Question: Can coyotes be domesticated?

*I'll take some pics of them next time I see them out.

a pure coyote is very unpredictable. however, i know of some folks with coydogs (coyote/dogs). they seem to like them fine.

if you do a search using coydog...im sure you can find a bunch about them. what ever you do......you need to read and study up on them.....and if you think about a wolfdog....do lots of reading.....join some mailing lists. they are not like raising a regular dog....at all. they make gr8 companions...very smart...but take a lot of time the first year or so.

No it was pretty much flat out but it seemed like we were always going against the wind.

Can you even ride a bike in 10" snow???

Not being sarcastic, it's just I've never tried it...We never had that much snow in Maryland!

Depending on what kind of snow you got maybe. They plowed the streets but there was still plenty of that white stuff around to make it really tough to get around. Just try to ride one with an inch or two for a couple of miles.

Even with twice as much snow there was never talk about closing school or leaving early.
