  • Firehawk Shocks

I found a set of 95 Firehawk shocks with 25,000 miles on them on ebay. He's got them on there for $50.00 and he lives close to me so I could prolly just pick them up and save the shipping. I was gonna buy take off decarbon off shocks from SLP for $75 shipped but thought these might be better? Are the Firehawk shocks better and do they have enough life left to make it worth it? I am planning on upgrading to BMR springs if that helps. Here's the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2455779771 Thanks guys any help is greatly apreciated.

I believe their exactly the same as standard deCarbons. Unless their Koni's, which they aren't, they're not worth it.

      On second look

They look like the De Carbons. Being orange and all and after a little research the Bilsteins were an option, even on the Firehawk, so I'm guessing this guy didn't have that option. I did a little looking and found these KYB AGX Adjustables on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2456407667 Are these better than the the decarbons? I want better than stock as I have heard they are pretty lame when compared with aftermarket units. I am on a tight budget though so I can't spend too much right now. All help is Greatly apreciated. Thanks .........later

For the effort, I wouldn't buy used shocks. You can get KYB's (which I have), or Bilsteins (also good) for dirt. Cut corners, (pun intended) elsewhere. IMHO.

I've been doing research and I am considering the KYB AGX adjustables. Seems people thing the de carbons are crap. I like the idea of adj shocks since I like a stiff ride but go to the strip now and then. So you like the KYBs then? I'm leaning towards them. Thanks
