  • Seen this before? German Camaro

Found this on a German website. I've never seen or heard of lights in the rear bumber like this. Thought you all may find it interesting.

In Europe they have different laws about the lights on the cars.

Friends of mine brought some Vette's across to Switzerland and they had to disable some of the side markers and change other lights. For many years the third brake light was illegal too.

They are also big on rear fog lights over there. It's at least one of the red onces that lights up as strong as a break light. Should help to see the car better in the front of you when it is foggy.

Only problem is people forget to turn them off and when driving behind them at night (no fog) it is very anoying, almost "blinding". On some cars, you're not at first if he's breaking or not.

It is noy unusual to have a several mile car pileup on the Autobahn when it is very foggy. So fog lights should help but not when everybody still goes pedal to the metal.

Noticed the samething with the Olds Aurora (spell check)...got these freaking bright red lights on the bumper that stays bright..as bright as the brake lights.

            coupla things here folks.........

            1. there is NO requirement for taillights in the bumper in Europe.

            2. there is a requirement for amber turn signals, and you can see that the camaro has them.

            3. there is also another requirement that the left tailight bulb be of brightness of the brake light. there is a switch simular to a fog light switch..and if you have fog lights ..its wired into that... during fog..its switched on... this helps other drivers on the autobahn and when the vehicle is parking to identify the left side of the vehicle for safe passage.

            4. there is also couple of other little things.

if you notice..thats a diff aftermarket bumper that camaro has...see the license tag opening?
