02 model more precisely but I think its the same from 98-02.

Edit: Also, if someone knew the approx weight, that would be great.

    Thanks

whats the difference between a "ws6" and a "ws9", or a "raptor" and a "superhawk" hood?

as far as i can tell, the ws9 and the superhawk hoods have heat extractors.

your user name implies you have a firehawk. slp makes the hood for that car, its not the same as the ws6, which is made by ASC for GM. what exactly are you looking for?

I am looking for the OEM ram air hood dimensions.

I do not have a firehawk. I just like the name.

I have a 02 Trans Am, like in my Signature.

I need to know because i may have to package and ship a hood.

no prob. just wondered. as you explore the net and get on other forums, you will find that the same confusion will exist. ive been involved with slp engineering, ComptA's, Firehawks, and SS's since 1996...... and on many forums, it will throw the wrong image .....not in your favor sometimes....drawing flames towards you as a poser....... yes..its stupid... but im just warning you..because ive seen it so many times over the years. "734" can be viewed as the build number. all Hawks are assigned a build number..by year.....however.. i dont think they built that many in one year before... ive not been to the firehawk assoc. site to confirm that though . .... you might want to pick a name that does not imply you have a Hawk. just trying to help.

you can get those dimensions from a pontiac dealers parts room.

I will not change my name on account that someone cannot deduce in their head by reading my signature that i own a Trans Am. I honestly do not care what people think about me, whether they think im a poser or not . I am secure in myself

I love the name Firehawk, I use it on evreything i subscribe to, and the 734 is my area code. This will not change, ever, and ill continue to do so.

I realize it could confuse some on this site, but if they wanna call me names for using it, even after reading my signature, then maybe they are too stupid for me to be listening to anyways...

I guess I will have to go to a dealer then. Thanks for the info.

you may know, the name Firehawk is owned by firestone tire...per thier "firehawk" tire brand desingnation. SLP, when they built the first "tier 1" firebird...and wanted to name it firehawk..had to lease the name from firestone. part of the agreement on the name lease was that the slp Firehawk be supplied O.E. with the firestone Firehawk tire.

you need to get some firehawk soles on your shoes...LOL!!!

hahah wow i didnt know all that history behind it. You are pretty knowledgeable in this area. Would you mind taking a look at my other thread (if you havent already) entitled "clutch linkage problem" , at what i posted near the end of the thread, and see what you think about that? Whether it is going to worsen if I dont do something about it, and what your views on dealer techs are.

I cannot believe more people on here have not had major issues with dealer mechanics. Ive never had a SINGLE MECHANIC work on my car that knew what they were doing.

Hell, when I first took my 2000 Formula in (won a lemon lawsuit on it), i took it in for a FREE OIL CHANGE. They didnt even know it was a V8. They thought it was a V6, AND THEY HAD TO DRIVE THE CAR OVER TO THE DAMN LIFT, AND THEY EVEN LOOKED AT THE ENGINE! Give me a GD break man. UN F'ing BELIEVEABLE! I have no respect for dealer mechanics whatsoever.

                      sure, ill mosey over there.

i lucked out. my cars were both special ordered at a dealer that the owner became a good friend of mine. he ended up getting a 97 ws6 for himself. every mod i did...he did ...we modded them together. he even went with the lt4 hot came and 4:10's along with me. i got to "baby sit" the car everytime it went in...and because we were buds...only his best mechanic worked on them. but he had some pretty knowledgeable dudes.... couple of engine builders/races...and the like.
