ok i just bought a HPP3 on ebay and it says vin mismatch. can youreset the programer w/o finding the car it was on before?

It sounds like the guy who sold you the unit didn't reprogram his car back to stock and it's reading back the other guy's vin number. Leave a negative feedback on him and tell him you contacted ebay and you're pressing fraud charges. Watch how fast he replies
