1 have a 95 t/a , does anyone know what kind of oil was put in the lt-1(factory)? I have herd that corvettes came with mobil 1, but i have also herd that some lt-1's(firehawks?) came with quaker state?
thanks jordan
the O.E. oil is a factory spec'd break in oil. affectionatly called "fish oil" by most engineers. its made by the low bidder to gm's specs..so the manuf. is really not important. once you have 1k miles or so on the motor...get it out of there.
depending on the year of the slp car is the kind of synthetic oil it came with. castrol, quaker state were both used. but fully synthetic. part of the slp alteration package for hawks, compta's;, and SS's (ss's was an option) was synthetic oil and lubes.
corvette comes with mobil 1 from the factory. and the owners mannual states you have to use only mobil one.

Seriously though, he would probably know this.
its kinda funny the cooperation you get from automotive companies when you work in fleet operations headquarters and your fleet has 195,000 vehicles in it..........
