Send an email to Brady, you can get his email from www.turbocharged.net . He currently has a 540 in his 4th gen, so I'm sure he can give you whatever pointers you need for putting a 454 in it.

I like the idea...I never much liked the look of the 4th gens, or any electric fuel injection really, (no offence, I am more into older cars) But I am very particular to 454's and 350's good strong motors. The only draw back to the 454 is 1. you may have to modify your fender wells and others to make it fit, and 2. If it's gonna be a d/d, then you'd better have some extra gas money. I'd go with the 350. It is more practical in all senses, and if built right, you can make some monster power out of those. As for the ear box, there is a guy in southern cali (I forget his name, I'll get back to you on that), but anyway, he buys and rebuilds 6-speeds and he has them to fit chevy and Ford engines for REAL cheap. deffinetly a cool edition to your new love.
            82 camaro x2:
            82 z28 w/ 305 (for now) 4 speed saginaw
            82 berrlinetta with 350 .060 over...3 speed auto

The Z28 is back under the knife, after the transmission, now its the entire engine....will post pics when all finished.

              reply to seannz28

i agree that 350's can make nice power but you have to run super hi compretion to the kinde of power that i am looking for
and dawn heare we only have like 92 octane raiting on our gas so i gess the big block is mutch beter choice for me
but if you can direct me to a 350or a small nlock that can preduce some north og 600BHP and run on 92octane i would be verry intrested and for around 4500$
thanx for the replys any way and cheers

You could get a 383 stroker motor to do 450 N/A, and then throw a 150 shot of nitrous on her. It would be much more controllable, along with the additional cost savings of not having to extensively modify the car to make it fit. Almost definitely could build this for under $4500 if you're doing the work yourself.
                Just my $0.02

How much would it cost to build up and super or turbo charge and 350? I've also been looking at cost effective ways to make alot more HP. I know Nitrous is fairly cheap but to me its the stupidest thing, I hate it with a passion.

Well from talking to Matt, he says Brady borrowed the 750 hp 540 which is going to end up in another 4th gen f-bod while he puts a Dart small block/big turbo combo into his Camaro. I think he ran a mid-high 9 first time out with the 540. That is faster than he did with the twin-turbo LT1. BTW, he has a 400 trans in there as well. Maybe Brady will pipe up and tell us the straight story. Hope I got my facts straight. Yeah, big blocks are killer in a 4th gen.

I think of it kinda like steroids, here one minute and gone the next. Too me its just
                        fake power.
