Stereo not working for some reason

aright i turned my car on today, and i didnt get any sound from my stereo. The radio face works, the clock and graphics are moving and stuff, but i dont have any sound. Its a kenwood radio. both cd and tuner dont work. Has anyone else got this. Is it just a wiring problem?

nah, its just a face, and pioneer 6x9s and tweeters. no amp or subs or any of that..

Pull the deck out and check your inline fuses then

dont u need a special tool to pull it out?

i can take off the black plastic border thing around it, but cant get the actual deck out. I though u need a tool

Do you have a stock or an aftermarket Stereo?
What year is your car, and what stereo option did it come from the factory with?
Different stereo systems have differnt componets wich work in different ways. You need to establish what the car came with and what is on it now in order to diagnose it.

i dont know, when i got it, it has this aftermarket kenwood face. Its an 81 z28. i just want to know, do u need a tool to take the whole deck out..

Worst case scenario is that you may have to pry some of the metal clips down to pull it out...I've never needed a special tool to remove one.

how did u ever take urs out. Did u just use screwdrivers or something...
