There are a few threads on here that are about the question to remove the cats or not.

    Here's a recent one

I removed my cat and used a 3" pipe on her. She didn't get on my car anymore. I'm kidding but your post just struck me funny and I'm in a mood.

I know I'm gonna get disagreed with but I'd remove it but make sure your not gonna get nailed when you get inspected first. If you have a 94 like I do there is no downstream O2 so it won't set a light and you will notice top end gain. Thats just my $.02 but if you have ever seen the mess thats inside one you'd understand it looks like minerature honeycomb and like it really resticts the air flow. It will make it Loud with anytype of performance muffler.

I had decided to take mine off, but once I looked around, I found Carsound cats (Someone mentioned them somewhere) on Ebay for $45. So instead of having the SES light on all the time, I'm just gotta fork out the money. From what I hear, the performance difference will be negligible. And I've heard through the grape vine that emissions tests are coming up in GA next year... So it'll be something less I will have to deal with later.

And that is my novice two pennies.

Random Technolgy makes catalytic converters that flow nearly as well as if there were no cat at all. And at the same time they still will pass emissions. That is of course if you HAVE to pass emissions.

Just get a test pipe made to bolt in and see if you like it. I doubt you'll see much increase in power though, mainly just a noise increase since todays cats flow pretty well.......Later

I know aguy who took his cat out on a 93 TA, I didnt like, it had a nasty sound to it, and flames shooting out of his pipes everytime he changed the gears on his 6speed. Attention for tickets.

Flames, really? When he shifted? Was it backfiring or something? I thought only Rotaries shot flames without the cats on
