  • Yokohama YK420 P255/50R-16 advice

My original equipment P245-50ZR16 Goodyear GSC's are about done on my 96 Z28 and it's time for new rubber at 39K (they're also 7 years old). I'm looking for a good all purpose tire as most of my driving is to and from work, not drag or track racing. I have other expenses besides my car, so I would like to buy a tire that will get me another 40K miles if possible (but I don't want it to look dorky....).

I was thinking about a Yokohama YK420 P255/50R-16. ($134.00 each). Has anyone here had any experience with this product? Any insight you can share would be great. Is there another tire you'd recommend in the $100-130 range? Thanks.

245/50/R16 FUTURA..... Great tire..... Bought a set in 99 and just replaced them...... Got about 55,000 out of them. Look pretty good on a 94 Z and my 91 Conv. RS. Make your tires look wider than a 16. Run about 99 - 130 bucks.....

I am shocked you got 40K out of the GS-Cs! I made the mistake before of replacing my Z-rated rubber with H-rated - make sure they are Z-rated - may have just been the tires I chose but it just never felt right. I had a set of Yokahamas for a while on another car and was pleased with them.
