  • LS1 in a Third Gen?

    Anybody ever tried to stick a 6-sp LT1 or LS1 into a 3rd gen?

I've got an 80 Z that needs a little Horsepower Therapy.

I also know where I can get a totaled LS1 car pretty cheap.

We discussed this a little while ago. Pretty sweet swap. If I had the $$ to do that I would. It would be a rad sleeper.

Thanx for the help guys! However, I screwed the question up. What I meant was a 2nd Gen. Both those links are excellent though.

Yeah I was thinkin, "Hey, 1980 is not a 3rd gen" but my slow brain couldnt put two and two together. I think the 2nd gen could swallow almost any engine just probably needs custom fab work done. Sounds like a fun heart transplant.

You have got to be kidding me... they named their company "PMS Racing"????
Former Ride: 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 - 345 rwhp, 360 rwtq... stock internally.

            Current Ride: 2006 Subaru Legacy GT Limited - spec.B #312 of 500

I didn't even catch that. I don't know if it's real or not, those guys play lots of practical jokes on each other. However, you can link around on that site and on that forum and find "TPR", which stands for "Team Prick Racing", and that is a real team. That's Brady McNew's car, used to be a twin turbo LT1 that came in second at the Thunder Shootout two years ago (lost to Madman, who just so happened to be the guy that later built Brady's suspension). This year, Brady will have big motor, big boost. Not sure on the details, but the supercharger is good for 2200+ HP.
