I am glad to hear you came to you came around. I love looking at the rice boys with the big wing on the back of their cars when they pull up next to me at a signal light. They usually look away from me and pretend to be adjusting the radio or something.
As the previous reply stated you will do better with a 4th Gen. engine. The LT-1 or LS-1 are far superior to the older engines.
The LS-1 is the best choice. It is an aluminum block and compared to the LT-1, which I have, it is quicker. I have lost to the LS-1 even with the bolt on mods I have.
As far as wanting information on modifications I suggest getting a GM High Performance magazine. These are at most good parts shops. They are also on the web.

Ha, thats funny, i dont know if i fall into the "ricer" catagory in your eyes, i grew up wanting a big block, or really any v8, but then someone gave me a honda crx si for free, i was forced to like it. It was some wheels i figured, but then i got to reading up on them, so i entered an autocross, and kicked some tail. Bone sotck, handles great. But since then, i upped teh supsension, and started building the motor, which is a work in progress. I just cant get over the go cart handling it ahs compared to the camaro. I know getting in my buddies bored out 350 in his old st-10, its great to have that chassis rocking torque, but right now im running about 9-10 psi daily, on a little 1.6 liter sohc vtec motor, and its pretty fun, especially in teh turns. My best pass so far was 13.2 @ 107, on street tires, well, nice ones, lol. Its pretty scary to go that fast in a little hatchback. I plan to build the motor a little bit, its stock right now, been this way for a couple months, and up the boost a few pounds to break 12's, and that will be it.
Oh, and its bone stock on teh inside and out, besides suspension and motor work. Hope you guys dont flame me for it, i still work on a 94 camaro, buts its the v6, andfor the owner, (mom), to dish out more cash for a lt1 transplant, hehe.

Amen, Camaro or Trans-Am years are 1998-and above. I think girls like muscle over the v-tec. Ya, I use to look away when muscle cars pulled up. Some times I use to just turn. I was wondering are their any meets???? I knew Honda owners had tons far, far, far away from the City (some where like Japan).
