  • help!!! Oil leak!!!

I have a 95 JFormula with the LT1 and there is a major oil leak goin on. I have already fixed the intake oil leak 2 summers ago, so Iknow that that is not the problem. I looks like from what I can see that the oil pan gasket in the front is going bad? just under the timming chain cover and it is blowing all over the bottom of the car.

So as I always do, I called may dad and he got to talking about the pcv valve maybe bieng clogged and not letting it breath the way it should and maybe finding the weakest point and forcing the oil out. So i took out the pcv valve and there was no vaccume at all there. So then I followed the hose up to the throttle body and took it off there and there i also found no vaccume. I thought to myself that i may be clogged there, so like the amature that i am i carefully stuck a small drill bit into the opening in the throttle body and found it to be open... but the tip of the drill bit came out with oil on it?! Whats up with this thing? any help would be greatlly appreciated.

If you are not capable of locating the source of your problem I suggest you take the car to a certified mechanic.
I had a leak on the intake manifold of my LT-1. It was fairly cheap to repair....and fairly common. I would check this first.
I will warn you of the cost of working on tuning that LT-1 engine though. Replacing the rotor is incredibly expensive. You have to pull the water pump to work on it. A full tune up with wires and rotor is about $1,000. I hope you have a mechanical background or a large pocket book.
Welcome to the world of high performance cars.
