  • Proper tire inflation...

    Hey guys,
I asked a similar question a few months ago, but I got a new car and I am putting a set of wheels on this one too. I need to know the proper tire inflation for a car that has a +1 wheel/tire combo. My car came with 205/55-16 tires. The recomended tire pressure is 32psi. I am upgrading to 235/45-17 Continental ContiExtremeContact tires. What should I inflate my new tires to?

    Thanks in Advance,

That is going to depend on a few things. Are you targeting a soft ride, gas mileage, performance?? Look on the sidewall for max recommended psi (probably 42-44 psi). Up to 8 psi below that # will give you the ultimate gas mileage but will sacrifice ride comfort and handling. Another 2-4 psi below this and I would think you will probably find your sweet spot and ultimate tire wear pressure.
