  • do i need headers to see a gain from a bigger cam and rockers?

if i just have a different muffler and mayb a cat-back if money permits will i see a increase in power with a larger cam or will the extra exhuast i have from the valves opeing more get bottlenecked on the way out?

You don't NEED headers, but you will definitely benefit having them. I believe you could also have your stock manifolds ported and then put a good y-pipe for better flow. However, I would just suggest a good set of headers, especially when you are starting to get into the internal motor. Remember, a better cam and rockers means more in and out, so the best suppliment is the headers for a tuned exhaust (especially considering that you already have a good cat-back).
    Just my $0.02.

This is how I would put it:
Why would you build an engine that CAN pump more volume of air, but not let it actually flow that volume of air?
