An alternative is to simply make "extensions" that raise the nose before it hits the ramps. I have some Sears 10" high steel ramps, that fit the 275 tires, a removable "ramp" so there is good access to the car from the side, and extensions made from 2x10 lumber:

    Fred

    381ci all-forged stroker - 10.8:1 - CNC LT4 heads/intake - CC solid roller - MoTeC engine management - 8 LS1 coils - 58mm TB - 78# injectors - 300-shot dry nitrous - TH400 - Gear Vendor O/D - Strange 12-bolt - 4.11's - AS&M headers - duals - Corbeau seat - AutoMeter gauges - roll bar - Spohn suspension - QA1 shocks - a few other odds 'n ends. 800HP/800lb-ft at the flywheel, on a 300-shot. 11.5 @ 117MPH straight motor

I made similar ramps out of 2x8's in order for me to park the T/A in the storage unit. They have a huge step there, I guess to keep the water out. I made a short one like Fred's to get the front wheels up and the a longer set to get the back wheels up to the same height and then drove in.

Works really nice. This way I didn't have to worry about damaging the underbody or exhaust. It cost me the circular saw though. After cutting all the angles on the 2x8's it was gone, overheated.

I've only ever seen one type of Rhino ramp. If you can, I'd suggest visiting a Pep Boy's, Auto Track, or some other place like that. The large chain stores seem to carry them. You can take some measurements to see if it should work first (they come tied together). You can check clearence in the lot and if it doesn't clear, then return them.

I don't remember what the label said on the Rhino ramps I bought but they did have 2 models. I don't remember the lighter duty ones saying low profile but they are the ones I bought and they work fine on my Z28. Actually my wife has a Beetle and it sits lower than the Z and they fit them fine too.
