  • Front Seat belt retractors

Has anyone had luck with tweaking the retractor springs to wind them up alittle better.
The ones on my 97droptop need help retracting.
Ive checked and the belts arent flipped over or crossed and seem to wind up OK but the springs are weak.
Will ones from a hardtop fit?

I think trying to "tweak the springs" as you say would involve a little more than would be worth it. I have some seatbelt retractors out of my 97WS6 that are for sale and work fine.

Not sure as to whether the convertible and hardtop share the same front retractors. Maybe Rob (shoebox) would know this answer.

my drivers side retratolr was replaced once under warranty, but it is doing the same thing again. I get really tired of either slamming it in teh door or having to make sure I flop the buckle on teh seat before I close the door.

Is this a prob mainly for converts or do hdtps have this prob too. Im getting really tired of it too. Im thinking the newer the better if I get a used replacement.
how old was yours when it was replaced under warranty? has the replacement lasted as long?
