Welp, I got to see an accident up close and personal today. My wife was driving the mini van on the ramp from I285 to I85 which is 2 lanes. We were in the left lane knowing that the DOT in their infinite wisdom decided to make the right lane end shortly ahead. Well there was quite a bit of merging madness in front of us when the car in front of us slammed on the brakes because somebody cut in front of them. My wife hit the brakes pretty hard but we were still about 25-30 feet from the car in front of us. Well the lady in the car behind us didn't react in time. She swerved to the right missing our back bumper by about a foot then over corrected to the left and passed perpendicular to the lane in front of us and hit the concrete wall to our left. The car bounced off and kept turning around and ended up bumping the right rear on the same concrete wall. We got stopped without hitting her but she was so freaked out she took her foot off the brake pedal. She then started rolling towards our car ever so slowly. So I got out and put my foot up on their bumper and stopped the car from rolling into ours. I got them to put it in park so it would quit rolling. Their air bags deployed which slightly cut the side of the drivers face. The guy got out of the passenger side and said that the air bag really hurt. He was ok. The driver must have hit her knee on something because she was hobbling a little. She was hysterical but is ok. My wife was shaking but she did a good job not hitting her. We were lucky that she didn't hit us. We got her car off the road and called the toe truck. I bet it's totaled. That's the closest I have ever seen an accident and not been involved in it.

I laugh about the people who drive really bad. When you make a comment about it they say they never had an accident. What I wonder though is, ho wmany they caused and do not even know.
