  • full manual transgo

hey guys, i had a guy where i work (ford dealership) help me rebuild and install the transgo reprogramming shift kit in my 4l60E in my 94Z. When he put it together he put three spacers in the accumulator. I then found out that transgo sells another kit made to make the valvebody full manual shift. I ordered it and he helped me put it in. It shifts harder but does not work like a manual valvebody. If you put it in drive it will shift through the gears like normal whereas if it was manual in drive it should be in third gear. It seems to shift ok, it just does not work like a manual shift valvebody would. If you put it in first and shift it manually, there is a delay from when you move the selector and when the tranny acctually shifts. Any help is appreciated.

    sorry such a long post

If a full manual valvebody kit is installed correctly it will always be in the gear that the selector is in no matter what. Did you install kit # 98362? I would have a transmission specialist look at it.

Im not sure the part number on the transgo kit because I dont have it here. This kit has you install a vaccune line from the brake booster and run it into the tranny to a modulator which is then installed in the valvebody. You have to drill a whole through the case and install a fitting. Like I said, everything works fine(shifts ok) just don't shift like a manual valvebody would. We went over the instructions a few times and didn't miss anything.

      Thanks

Those guys LOVE to work on a trans after some one has tried to do a shift kit.
