  • NFB: I Need Your Guys' Opinion!

I need to buy a truck for work, and to help ease the daily use of the Z. They have an 01 GMC Sonoma SLS Extended Cab truck at work that I really like. The only problem is that it has the 2.2L 4cyl Engine w/ auto tranny, and if you've ever driven one, their really slow. However, my main concern is gas mileage, and dependability. Do you guys know if these engines are good in terms of life and dependability? I can get it for around $8500. It has 60K miles and no power anything except steering.

    Thanks Guys!

I haven't heard anything bad about the Sonoma's.

There is nothing wrong with driving a slow car to work. My 4cyl Buick gets sacraficed to the traffic gods every day so my Z can stay clean and dry and have a nice long life. Long live the F-body!

It looks like a nice little truck. I'd drive it.

Yeah, I guess its worth it since the Z has been my daily driver for almost 4 years. I checked the value of it on Edmunds.com, and according to them, the price is just right for $8500, but from a private party. Dealer retail is almost $10,000. I think its a decent deal considering im getting it from a dealer. What do you guys think?

i think its a pretty good deal.
you WILL hate no power windows though.
i drive a Ranger Edge for work with no power windows and it sucks when you need to talk to people on the pass. side. but thats not a bad looking truck

A buddy of mine had a couple of them. His first was the 4 cylinder automatic and he said it was a dog compared to the v6. Gas mileage was almost the same.
