. In Florida, injuries related to street racing increased 122% from 1999 to 2001. In San Diego, the number of street racing cases prosecuted increased 97% in that same time period. In 2001, the number of fatal crashes as a result of street racing increased 87% in 2001 alone

Bottom line.....STREET RACING IS DUMB........why risk someone elses life and then have to pay for it for the rest of yours when you can take it to the strip and race safe and legal .

I don't at all intend to condone street racing, but I would have never learned to drive a fast car if it weren't for the streets.

You just have to be smart and not race on a street in the middle of the city. We would always go find a backroad somewhere where there wasn't a car in site and get it on! Backroads in South TX are a dime a dozen.

1400 location for track racing... i wish there was something available in the nyc area, i know about Englishtown but that's just too far to drive just to do 2-3 runs, plenty of street racing in NYC during the summer. I am surprised that no one build anything around here considering the sports compact scene. The statistics are scary, the High School at which I work had two kids wraped them selves around a tree in a daddies BMW doing 120, just recently.
