  • Rear Window Defogger Shuts Off Too Soon

My rear window defogger shuts off after about 2 minutes then won't resart until I wait a couple minutes before pushing the button.

Is ther an electrical thingy that might be bad?

    TIA

The switch itself is most likely failing. It has the timer built into it. I'd find a replacement and give it a shot.

    Good luck.

Next time it shuts off too soon, see if your power seat is also dead. If it is, you are tripping the circuit breaker (same breaker powers both). If not, probably the switch/timer.

You can try replacing the 30amp circuit breaker (#12 in the fuse panel). If that does not work, put a 30 amp regular fuse in it and test it out. It's a common problem for the defogger to act up.

Usually this question comes up in the fall.
