  • Engine questions for the pros

Ok guys. I have a 97 ws6 t/a with 65k or so on the odo. In about 3 months i will have about 10k to mod the car. As far as suspension, drivetrain, and exhaust goes i know what i am gonna get for what i am looking out of my car. Plus i already have a lot of those parts to be put on. But as far as internal engine work i am a complete rookie. What i mean by this is that i want to bore and stroke my motor, up the fuel system, change cams, change intake manifolds, and pretty much everything that can be done to fully build the motor. I know a little about the stuff but have no clue as to what parts will work with each other. I dont want to put some parts in it that won't be the best match up for the rest of the stuff that will be going in it. I plan to use the car for street/strip but it will not really be a daily driver. Prolly will only be used 3 or 4 days a week for short drives. I also want to s/c it sometime down the road with low boost so i would like the parts to be s/c friendly. So if someone will please help me make a list of what i will be needing i would greatly appreciate it. Plus i am trying to find good deals so i can get more parts for my $. My E-mail address is ws6drbob@netscape.net . Thanks guys.

well im not an expert, but i will tell you that as far as boring and stroking the motor - 383 is common and can be done so its s/c friendly. you will need ported and polished heads and you should port match the intake. as far as what goes best with what, maybe fred, joe, or any of the other guys with much more knowledge on the topic can help. but this should get the ball rolling for you.
