I have the Monsoon system in my 1998 SS and i think it sucks. I installed a system with 2 12" P. Miller subs and a 1000 watt Kenwood amp. It sounds great but i wanted to change the other speakers around but had a hard time finding something with the correct mounting depth that was decent. Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm not sure what the depth but i can tell you from my experience as a premium car stereo salesman that unless it is off by a huge amount most speakers can squeezed into a smaller hole with little fabrication done to the speaker housing. Sometimes it just requires a small spacer plate to be put in. But as far as monsoon goes... if you want to change a set of speakers in that car you will have to redo your entire sound sytem because aftermarket speakers will not work with the amplified monsoon system. Sad but true.
