wolfman, I see you are very close to your animals. I'm wondering how you deal or would deal with a loss? It must be very hard. My dog died last July after 18 years. I wept for 2 days.

I know how it feels to lose a pet. I had to put my black lab to sleep on January 8, 2004. His name was Alex. But we had so many other names for him that we made up during the 13 years we had him. I am 18 now and I got my dog when he was like 6 weeks old back in 1990. We got him from some guy taht my dad worked with, but he couldnt take car of AL. Al lived in a little dog house in a cold dark basement and was only let out of his cage for like 15 minutes a day to go to the bath room. On January 8, 2004 my dad told me when i woke up that Al may only have a couple days left, and he told me to spend alot of time with him. I planned on sleeping next to him until he had to be put down. But later that day when I was at work my dad called me and told me that AL wasn't doing so well. (he was crapping blood). I started balling my eyes out immediatly and just left without telling anybody. I drove home extremely fast to see my best friend. I gave him so many cookies but he didnt really want them cuz he wasn't feeling so good. Normally he would try and eat the whole box of cookies. But when me, my mom and dad, sister and brotherwere on our way to the vet to put my boy down it was dead silence except for ing. Alex passed away at 6:02pm on 1-8-04, I closed his eyes for him and told him to go tear apart some squirels and get some doggy booty up in Heaven cuz he never got any down here. I'll never forget my BIG dog AL and now we have seriously over 30 or 40 pics of him around the house. I have 8 pics in my room alone and a pic of him on my dash in the T/A. I also have his dog tags hanging from my rearview mirror and ever since I put those there I havent lost a race. I know he is watching over me and I thank him for that. I cried for days and days after AL was put down, it's been like 2 1/2 months since that dreadful day and I am starting to writing all of this. For all of you guys that dont have a ept or think that if you when a pet dies that you are a wimp or somehting is complete bull $hit. Its just like losing a family memeber and it is like a peice is missing from your life and it feels terrible.

R.I.P AL - I miss you and love you with all my heart and will never ever forget you buddy.
