Problem...Need Help

Only on a very hot NJ day, car has to be running about 200 degrees, at a stop, starts to idol rough, tac starts to dip then jumps to 1000 and trys to launch. Have to keep foot planted on brake or she goes. What could be wrong and please don't tell me Opti. Thanks

cheap things first....how long has it been since you cleaned your throttle body...specifically spraying down into the IAC bore to get that cleaned out as best as possible.....the idle valve may be getting cloged (carboned-up) and require a good cleaning.

Investment: 1 hour (tops) and a can of TB cleaner.

OK. Thanks. I'll try that this afternoon. I don't get why it only happens when it is hot but it probably needs it anyway.
