  • Seatbelt Guides

    Hi everyone -

I am replacing the seatbelt guides on my 95 Camaro and was wondering if anyone can either point to a reference on how to undo the belt to get it through the guide, or could recommend a book that would cover this?

    Thanks,

    Robert

    well...

You have to detach the belt from the floor... It is held by a TORX head bolt. Take the plastic cover off from where the belt attaches to the floor, it has a big plus sign on the cover, get something that will turn the cover and it will come out. You will then see the TORX head, it will be very tight. I am not sure of the size but once you get the cover off you can get the right one at your favorite auto parts store.

Its a T47. If you have a T50, you can use it if you tap it into the bolt with a hammer.

And..... you may need an inpact driver/wrench. These seatbelt bolts are often FIRMLY torqued.

Make life easy on yourself... get the convertable ones..they come with a "slice" in them so you can just slip the belt in. If you must have original then yes you need to undo it from the floor.

Well, I had already purchased and opened the non-sliced versions. So I did the next best thing: I made my own slice.

Works for me, and you can't tell it by looking at it!
