  • Getting rid of Loudmouth soon..need advice on other cat-backs

    Hi all,
My daughter is growing so fast that she is 10 months and is
as tall as a 15 month old. Anyway the wife and I discussed about
    having her in the Hawk.
I am thinking of getting the Magnaflow exhaust. I still have my
stock Firehawk duel/duel exhaust. But want something different.
Guys at my workplace keep bothering me about getting a Flowmaster.
I keep telling them I want more power not less. But that falls
    on deaf (mustang) ears.

    What do you guys recommend.

    Thanks,
    Adam H. 2002 T/A Firehawk #536

      quiet exhaust??

      Adam,

Most of the folks on the forum are on the younger side...so this may not work for you. I love power, but I also like to be able to hear myself talk. I cut out an article on exhaust systems that shows you can have power and quiet at the same time. It was a specific dynomax system. Let me know if you're interested.

If you want something that sounds great at WOW, but quiet on the highway... think about a Corsa exhaust. I have one and love it.

Magnaflow is a good choice. Others to consider are...

            Corsa is awesome, but pricey.

SLP Dual/Dual sounds nice and is not too loud. IMO

Hooker Aerochamber sounds great. Kinda quiet for me.

B&B Triflow is quieter than Flowmaster.

            Too many people have Flowmaster.

              To Scott-93 TransAm

Where is that article on the Dynomax muffler? I went to every bodies web site for mufflers and out of the ones with sound clips, I definitely liked the Dynomax one the best. It sounds like an old turbo muffler.

I second the Corsa recommendation. I love the look and sound of mine.

I have had the Borla on my car for 3 years and love it!! It is adjustable for sound and suits the openings in the T/A bumper very nicely....IMHO

You can put your original exhaust back on and add in an electric cutout, that way it is semi-quiet when you want and load when you want. It is probably what I'll do when I put on headers in the fall, since the LM may be TOO loud then, with all the boys in blue around.
