  • neon lights

hey, i just bought a pair of 9 inch neon lights to mount in my footwells. (don't worry i'm not gonna get all ricy) I'm going to hook them up to a toggle switch and i was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on where my power source should come from and where i should mount my toggle switch. i was thinking about getting power from the wires that power the cigarette lighter and mounting the switch where the ash tray goes. any suggestions?

I have LED's in mine instead of neons and I used the fog light switch, since I rewired my fog light so they are one when the parking lights are on, high or low beam, they're on.

no i'm not kidding. i know you can go a little overboard with lights but it's gonna look cool with the red dash! I also think i found my power supply. The socket for the center console light doesn't work anymore so i'm going to use those wires. Now just need some suggestions on where to mount my toggle switch.

I'd repair the broken center console light. Proper maintenance is important. I'd never consider buying a car thats been allowed to fall into disrepair, and most ppl would agree with me. I'd also never buy a car that was all "jazzed up" with lights and switches. Intstead of spending money on neon lights I'd be making the necessary repairs to preserve the value of my investment.

Would have to second that. Don't take advantage of something being broken, take advantage of the pride that comes from maintaining your car.
