I am a little confused guys. The 2005 C6 corvette is coming with a 400hp LS2. Is this engine a totally different engine or is the same platform as the LS1(like the LT1 and the LT4)? I went to chevy's website but couldn't find any info. Just curious if any of you guys know.

I just found a pic of the engine bay in the C6 and it appears to be the same block as the LS1 and LS6. The only reason i had to ask was because i know that the ZR-1 corvette in the early 90's had a LT-5 which was a completely different engine than the LT-1 and LT-4 yet still carried the -LT- identification code.1997 6-spd WS6 Trans Am

Yeah, it is a bored 6.0 liter. It also has 10.9:1 compression, and better exhaust and intake flow. With a 6500 RPM redline.
It's funny... that is more displacement and more compression, with the same redline as the LS6, yet it is rated at 5 less horsepower... can you say underrated?????Former Ride: 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 - 345 rwhp, 360 rwtq... stock internally.
Current Ride: 2006 Subaru Legacy GT Limited - spec.B #312 of 500
