I konw this has been posted like a billion times before. Well I guess it's my turn. I got a 96 T/A with 3.73 gears and having a 2800 stall put in soon. a moroso CAI and nittors. I ran a 14.0 @ 99 with 2.73 gears stock with not that good of weather conditions. It was like humid 65 or so. O and i got a cut out. im thinkin like a 13.5 atleast cuz my 14 second pass was 100% stock. and i have done some good starting off mods. all thoughts are welcome. thanks tom

gears alone should warrant 2-3 tenths and 2-3 mph. If you have nittos you'll probably hit the 3s. along with the stall there shouldnt be any reason why 13.5 isn't attainable. How does your car feel with the 3.73s in? I got mine sitting in a box to be installed
what other mods do you have?

I agree, you should be able to see 13.5's on a good day given you were already at 14.0.

I love my gears with a passion. They really woke up my car. I had the 2.73's and the car felt so slow. The 1-2 shift is mean as hell hearing thoses tires chirp all loud. And 2nd gear you pull really hard. I have GM motives and i like them, they are really quite. My friends have the Strange gears and they are really loud in all there cars. But 2 thumbs up on gm motive 3.73's.

hmm, I got the strange. I guess I can expect noise? My rear makes noise as it is so it shouldn't be a biggie. Now you made it so I want them on even more! howd your gas mileage drop with them?

Ummm, about the gas mileage I dropped like 20 miles per tank. I was getting around 160 then it fell to like 140. But it is really worth. Except for these stupid gas prices these days. I dont know the normal miles-per-tank for an LT1 because I kind dont take my foot off the gas when I drive. Hope this helps. Tom

Yea i burned up a pair of sumitomo peices of garbage in like 4500 miles, yes 4500 miles. I did a bunout one time and it was exaclty 362 shoe steps front to back with my shoe which is a mens 11 1/2. But i have done alot more smaller but still longer than usual burn outs. One time me and 2 off my buddies with a z and another t/a were in my highshcool parking lot and we heated the tires up like nonother. It literally lloked like the school was onfire for like 10 mins. The smoke was so thick it was like a big cloud. But we had to get out of there cuz the police station is right next to the school.

O cool nice to meet ya. There are a few people taht are just a few miles away from where we live that go on this forum. And every once in a while we go up to Buger King on Roselle to chill for a little bit. But since the weather sucks today, count me out for tonight. Plus I only like going up there for like 30 minutes to an hour. I like car shows but I still have better places to to go and things to do on the weekends. Like PARTY!!!!

your sumitomos didnt last long? I have 6000 miles on mine so far and they're wearing very well for all the burnouts I do. I don't do massive ones like that though
The front ones are still on there from when I bought the car, and have to have at least 10,000 miles on them yet still have alot of treadlife left.
I wish I would have had my firebird in high school instead I had a crappy looking 68 bonneville. I would have been king with this car in high school. The only other fast car was a honda s2000.

Yea well when the sumitomos got burned up, i just took my car back to NTB and said that I have never done a burn out and they just gave me 2 brand new tires for free.
