  • I spend too much on my car?

Bought my car last year in august, at the time I thought I got a great deal on it since all other firebirds I looked at were over $8,000. I also didn't really research it (ok I didn't at all, I didn't know the difference between a transam and a formula. I just knew I needed to have this car.)

    as it was then:
    1994 firebird formula T-tops
    106,500 miles
    green w/ gray interior
paint in good condition (spider cracks on nose, whole car repainted at least once)
    cloth interior
    CD player
    Power windows/locks/drivers seat
    a4 w/ performance mode
    2.73
    16x8 stock wheels
sumitomo 245/50ZR htr+'s rear worn down much much more than front (aka bald)
    K&N completely clogged filter
new muffler (dont know what, guessing a flowmaster, but it does sound good)
uncertain mileage on opti (didn't know to ask)

    all that for $5600.
I managed to work him down from $5995 because we would have to buy new rear tires.

    not a bad price?

I bought my TA, completely stock with all the options available at 111k last May for $4300. Not bad I guess.

In December I paid $3,200 for my 94' Formula with 135,000miles, T-Tops, Leather, A/C, Factory Cd, New Tires, Power everything, A-4 w/performance mode, 2.73s. The worst part of the car is a slightly below average paint job.

i paid $7,500 for my formula when it had 86,000 miles on it. Everything was in perfect condition, new tires, and he said it had never seen snow or rain. He also always kept the car cover on it.
