Does anyone know if these two can play nice together?

I know methanol has been used as an enrichment fuel with nitrous. You need big injectors, because the stoichiometric ratio for nitrous/methanol is 4.13, vs. a nitrous/gasoline ratio of 9.65. And methanol requires a ratio well in excess of stoichiometric to achieve max power. The complementary nature of the combination... nitrous "heats" combustion, alcohol "cools" combustion... make them a good match. They appear to be capable of making more power as a % of base motor HP than a nitrous/gasoline mixture. I honestly don't know anyone who ever tried it.
I would recommend this book... they cover nitrous/alcohol and nitrous/nitromethane combustion on pages 102-103.

I'm giving this combination some serious consideration. I am like you, I don't personally know of anyone who has ever tried to make this combo work.
It sounds theoretically feasible as well as complimentary, but you and I know that theory and track are two different worlds half the time.
The only thing that worries me is that there is apparently not a whole lot of R&D on this combo.
But I guess like they say, "Nothing ventured nothing gained!"

You might also want to look at nitrous and propane. They are using it on the Vipers, and recently came out with a kit for the LS1 Corvette. Another case of a liquid fuel with a high heat of vaporization, to pull away heat from the intake charge.

There is a guy at Combination Motorsports who just completed a motor somewhat similar to mine. It is an LT1 based 383 inch solid roller. He is using LT4 heads, ported LT4 intake, and a 400 shot. They are expecting a little over 920 rwhp through a th400 and 9" aluminum spooled rear.
I hope that with a sheetmetal intake, a bigger cam, and more extensive porting on my heads that I could get quite a bit more.
I am considering the methanol injection along with a 400 shot to see if I can run a little more timing than most without grenading the block. My LT1 block is going to be pushed to it's limits for sure.
Thanks for the links!
