  • What color should I make my suspension pieces?

My first mods are likely to be replacing and enhancing the suspension: sfc, lower control arms, panhard rod, stb, sway bars, etc, you guys know the drill. Anyway, the car is all black with graphite interior. I'm undecided if I want to keep the suspension pieces low key and make them black also, or go with a contrasting color like red (matches the WS6 emblem on back). So I thought I'd throw the question out to you guys. I'll probably be finishing my calipers in whatever color I choose also, so that's a consideration. Again, I'm unsure if I want the low key, subdued body-color look, or the bright red showing through the wheels.

I'm usually a monochromatic guy, so I'm leaning towards black. kind of a sleeper look too. If anyone has pics of either color (calipers or suspension) on a black car, post them if you could. Thanks!

Well, since our cars match, I'll tell you what I did. Certain parts I did red, certain parts are black.

In Red: Hotchkis Strut Tower Brace, BMR Torque Arm, BMR Lower Control Arm Relocation Brackets, Front Calipers.

In Black: BMR Lower Control Arms, BMR Double Adjustable Panhard Rod.

Joe, was there a method to your madness in choosing which part had which color, or was that just how it came out? Right now I'm leaning towards doing all the suspension pieces in red, but doing the calipers black, with maybe a silver ram air graphic on them to match the one on the hood. What could I get graphic-wise to stand up to the heat?

As open as my wheels are, I didn't want red lower control arms screaming out. I wanted a certain amount of stealth from the side, so I went with black for the panhard rod and lower control arms.

Ask any ricer... yellow is faster!

On a black car, red would look sweet. On my car... I'd go with black.

I have my eyes on some decals listed on e-bay - not sure how to post the link. But the decals are advertised as "brake caliper decals". You can get them in "Ram Air", "Pontiac", "Trans Am" - whatever you want. They are curved to match the caliper's curve and are advertised as being able to withstand the heat. I am contemplating the same color choices but on a silver car.

I like silver suspension components with a black car. BMR stuff comes in silver.

But if you're set on either red or black, I will definitely vote for red.
