I want to add a CAI to my 97 3.8 Firebird.
What is the best setup to use and does it have a good cold air box. We made one for the GTP out of plexiglas and lined it with thermal barrier. Firebirds dont seem to have as much room where the box needs to be.

    Don't expect miracles

The ram air effect will actually only take place above a rather high speed........say 40 to 60 and even then you won't pick up much HP on that 3.8. Maybe 8 or 10 max.

I made one out of a rubber elbow and metal piping and a K&N filter. I noticed a slight difference at WOT... oh yeah, I have a 96, so I don't have the air box that sits above the radiator... Does your 97?

What good is the SLP CAI if it doesnt have a box to seperate the hot engine bay air from the intake? How can they call that a CAI? I think its more of a HAI with a little better flowing filters.
