  • true duel vs. single cat back

I've been looking into buying duel exaust system for my car, but then i saw that they don't make duel cat systems for the 93. I was wondering how much of an advantage the true duel will have over the single cat back system and if it's worth the trouble? Thanx for your suggestions.

When people refer to true dual exhaust, they're referring to each exhaust bank having it's own exit, like on a Mustang. There are two, sometimes four cats, two intermediate pipes and two mufflers. Dual cat cars are not true dual exhaust. They still have a y-pipe and a single intermidiate pipe and a single muffler. That muffler can have one or two exits. They just have 2 cats. Going to a dual cat system may gain you about 10 hp, but simply upgrading your single cat system with a high flow y-pipe and cat back and possibly headers and high flow cat will net you about the same gains as a dual cat car doing the same thing.

F-bodies are dual cat cars, not true dual exhaust
