peed limit..whats that?
over on highway 82, the speed limit is 55, but we have pushed 90 down a hill and up the road about 5 miles and not get caught. once, going from here to DFW airport, I-35 was clear almost, so we looked around, and ABSOLUTELY GUNNED IT. there is a cement partition between N/S lanes, so we pegged that needle to 85, where it stopped, and basically thru a rock on the gas pedal, we estimate we were doing 100 unmonitored for about 1 mile! man these texas cops are stupid. then again, they couldn't see us over that wall us f-bodies are so low profile.

Where in Texas?
I think I would have fun goin down this road...
one of the most busiest streets by me besides high way 6 is only 30 mph which really pisses me off I think it could be atleast 40
and cops in texas aren't to nice...
I got pulled over 3 days after getting my license for my front license plate not being visible and he walked around my car 3 times to come to that conclusion. It was because I was driving my car that has a 3 1/2 cowl hood and its blue with white racin stripes.
He didn't give me a ticket though cause I proved him wrong about my restrictions about not allowing any one in my car under 18 but infact its that I'm only aloud one person besides family.
I HATE COPS!!!88 z28 Cam 305 V8 TBI

Detectors/State Drivers and such.
Hey fellas,
In the military and lived in Ohio most of my life, Georgia, Texas, and South Korea. My cousin is a retired Ohio State Trooper and my brother-in-law is former North Carolina Police Officer and I've talked to them both. In my humble opinion, I agree with what most people mentioned about the Detector vs if the cop let you off. I've run through 4-5 detectors in my lifetime and have received 6-8 tickets during this time. Laser Detection only tells you if you've been beamed and by that time it is too late. Usually the cops will take a car down like a cheetah and a gazelle in the wild if you are going like over 20mph over the speed limit. 15mph qualifies as justification, while 10 mph and under usually isn't worthy with a few exceptions. Those are: **Holidays**, construction, festivals running nearby, anywhere near schooling transport, sometimes small sleepy towns.
Radar detection is fairly helpful as a heads up warning.
Think of dealing with speed traps as in warfare. Don't set yourself up for an ambush. Beware of cresting hills, curves with blocked views, bridges, overpasses, Highways with very hilly or mountainous areas and small towns.
In my experience, it really doesn't matter what state the people generally are in or from. For the most part I see the most aggressive drivers in the urban areas while there tends to be more courtious drivers in the rural areas (there are always exceptions). Aggressive driving tend to increase at night (r/t alcohol/drugs) and the rush hour times.
My philosophy is "People are stupid until proven otherwise". Not only watch yourself but watch others. That's why I like the F-Body Vehicles, they're very resposive and reactive to bad driving.Mixedpuppy
