  • Video Game F-body Reference?

Apu's car in Simpsons Hit and Run sure looks like a 2nd Gen "Smokey and the Bandit" style Trans Am (although I am still trying to make out the hood sticker). Anyway, the game is crazy fun, and the Gold TA is a good runner compared to other cars.

Apu says the funniest things too:

    "350 Horses of Convenient Power"
"I hope I don't get robbed more than 4 times while I am gone"

If you are a gamer or not, this one is really a good time (esp if your a Simpsons fan to begin with). All platforms, PC for me.

yeah that game was fun for the first 2 days i played it, then i got bored and it got kind of repetitive. for me it has to be Grand Theft Auto as the best game of all time.

NO NO NO, the best game of all time is by far Golden Eye OO7. I will smoke anybody in that game. And I saw this thing on the internet a couple days ago of this guy beating the entire Super Mario Brothers game for regular Nintendo, in 10 minutes and 53 seconds. Yes that is the correct time. Ill try and find the link.

If you want an 4th gen drivers game, it would have to be the Need For Speed series of games.

If you want an 4th gen drag racing game, IHRA is the only one I've found with a door slammer, stock bodied, f-body in it. I have my door slammer down to like 4.07@367. 9993 HP in an 1150 pound f-body means it's FAST

The sad thing is that same motor in a 2200 pound 59 Caddy runs 3.95@375

Are you all crazy. Counterstrike (the half-life mod) is the best game ever. I think it was introduced in the mid to late 90's and I have yet to find another shooter like it.
But when it comes to racing games, f-bodies in games, and stuff like that; the Gran Turismo Series are by far the best. (that is if you have hours upon hours to spend beating the game) .

Meh, counterstrike is okay. I am an all out master in counterstrile but i got bored of it after playnig for like 6 hours straight, 4 days a week, for 6 months

Gran Turismo is okay in graphics but it is soooooo god damn slow. Tell you what you should do, play 10 minutes of Need For Speed Underground and then play Gran Turismo right after and you'll see how slow and boring the game really is unfortunately. I love need for speed underground, one of the best racing games ever, only problem is theres no muscle cars in it.

its fake. The guy found a way to save the game at will, and all the little flashes and windows that pop up during the movie are his game saves. It really took him like a fricken year to complete the game, and it looks uber-cool the way its done, but he didn't do it in one shot.

My favorite game? GTA3 and Vice City. Then some of the NFS, and just got NASCAR 2004, which is uber-cool because I am running the ACT-LABS RS wheel with the shifter and all, and the NASCAR game is actually very realisitic, and pretty exciting.

Counterstrike...undoubtly the best tatical shoot em up game out there (PC version)

RainbowSix 3 is pretty bad too...great game. Lots of tatical situations and plenty of fun (XBOX)

Project Gotham Racing 2 is the best "car" game out there. Plenty of Domestics to beat up on Imports...if you guys have an XBOX, this definately should be in the collection. Online competition is tight...graphics are awesome and replay makes you think you're lookin at the real thing. I prefer to roll in a 02 SS to beat up on wimpy imports, but when the time calls, I pull out the ZO6. The only ting I wished they did have was a mod feature...SS's can't beat up on 360 Modenas and 911 Turbos stock...

I have to second the project gothem as the best driving game I've played to date. I still have fun with GT2 though (stupid lack of an XBox ) I thought the need for speed underground was pretty decent driving wise but the lack of domestics kind of sucks. I enjoy fast imports though, the bigest thing is that I can't stand is the music!! It's all ghetto hip hop crap.......I really don't want to race while listening to Lil John. I tend to like rock and can stand a little rap but not the trash they used for a sound track of NFS Underground. Aparently Domestic muscle/sports cars are more Rock and Roll and imports are Hip Hop . I guess another thing that makes imports seem lame to most of us. For me it's not the cars but the scene that makes import world seem lame........Sorry to wander off topic. Oh yeah my favorite video game ever would have to be Halo. Multiplayer is like Golden Eye 007 on speed .............Later

What about Snake's car "Lil Bandit" it's a Blown first gen Firebird/TA. Even cooler than Apu's Screamin Chicken T/A IMO. Isn't that car in the game too? Best Simpsons cars ever

As far as racing games go, the Gran Turismo sears takes the cake. Accurate physics, true course design and decent at worst car selection. Sorry, but NFS hasn't really impressed me as far as reality in gaming is concerned. Fun, yes. Realistic...not even close. Plus, in GT3, you can build yourself a sweet 695hp LT1 Z28...tell me that's not cool lol

I don't know how relevant this is to this topic but... has anyone ever played Need for Speed: High Stakes? I loved that game a few years ago, but it's probably a bit outdated now. In fact, I loved driving the f-bodies there. If you raced the Firebird there, and go to the cockpit view, it's almost like you're in the real thing. The tach, speedo, and all other instruments are a replica of the real f-body. And, watching the tach/speedo needles climb was amazingly real. The needle was a bit off at 140+ mph though. They even had the correct gear ratios for the M6 if you chose a manual, and the A4 if you chose automatic. And best of all, when you continually upgrade the car, you will eventually get the WS6 package in the Firebird, and the SS in the Camaro. Man, I loved that game!
