  • Some questions

Just purchased the B&M Shift improver kit for my Z. I talked to one person and he said it wasn't that bad. Looking inside the box it doesn't seem too bad, but has anyone done this kit before? This is going right a long with all my projects last weekend that I did that I never had time to do.

Last weekend was the porting and polishing of the mass air. It came out really good, but now when in gear it idles around 650-700 rpms. In park it idles around 900 rpms where it used to be. thats really low, but it takes off a lot harder now and at higher speeds I definitely notice a difference.

Also this past weekend I finally got the trailer hitch removed. Will that cause traction problems now not having the weight in the rear, or will it help my et's or both?

Also removed the rear seats, partially because they are useless and whenever someone sits back there all they do is whine, so I solved that problem. I'll put some pictures up shortly of what it looks like with them removed. I would appreciate any feed back on the shift kit.

Oh, yeah there is this noise at low speeds sounds like something is knocking, I know the input seal on the rear main is bad, would that cause the sound or is another problem. Sounds like a slow moving clunk only noticable between 10-25 mph. Any hints?

    Thanks,

    Jon

    re: clunk

If the clunk is on the 1-2 shift, then more than likely it is the trans mount. Stock one only lasted a month after I put in the TransGo shift kit. The only mount I found that has been able to withstand the shift kit is the SLP 1LE mount. Aftermarket ones only lasted 3 months. The SLP one has lasted almost a year now.
